They are seeking blessings to Almighty Allah for the wellbeing of mankind, peace, progress and happiness for themselves, families, relatives and friends as well as the nation and the Muslim Ummah.

The devotees traditionally visit graves of their beloved ones and pray for the peace of their departed souls on the occasion. Many also visit mazars of saints all over the country.

Many people fast on the day following Shab-e-Barat night. Some people distribute food and sweets among the neighbors and the poor.

On the occasion, different socio-cultural organizations are holding discussions and milad mahfils in the capital city and across the country. Islamic Foundation has chalked out different program to mark the occasion with due solemnity.

Ulema and religious scholars in their sermons this night at mosques and other mahfils would highlight teachings of Islam and various aspects of the life of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM).

Shab-e-Baraat is observed 14 or 15 days before beginning of the holy month of fasting Ramzan. The Muslims consider Shab-e-Barat as one of the most sacred nights and believe that on this night the Almighty Allah decides the fate of all human beings fixing their ‘rizq’ (livelihood) for the next year.
