Shakib sidelined for five days

Bangladesh’s premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan could not participate in the conditioning camp today due to a slight injury to his left ankle.

He had his injured ankle taped up by a BCB physician. The doctors will oversee the development through a precautionary X-Ray most likely after 48 hours.

Shakib was actually limping in the conditioning camp and when asked by an inquisitive reporter about what had happened, he just smiled back.

Shakib trained yesterday and when he left training he was fine so it is understood that he incurred the injury at home. The T20 captain was in attendance in the conditioning camp but did not partake in any exercises.

Although there was swelling, the injury is thought to be minor.

Shakib is likely to not partake in the conditioning camp for 5-6 days.
