Two Bangladeshi companies receive $ 1 million UN grant

Two companies of Bangladesh were given UN power grants in the year 2017 in recognition of solar entrepreneurship to reduce global poverty through the development of renewable energy.

Two companies received nearly $ 1 million grant under the UN Energy Grant.

The announcement was made through an UN press release that the companies were- Grameen Shakti and ME SOLshare.

Due to the joint venture of the two companies, people are producing huge solar power in rural areas.

Also, people are benefiting financially by selling renewable electricity.

The money was handed over to the representatives of two companies at a function held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Wednesday (November 22).
