US-Bangla airlines plane crash in Nepal kills at least 50: Army spokesman

A Bangladeshi airliner with 71 people on board crashed on Monday while coming in to land at the airport in the Nepali capital, Kathmandu, killing at least 50 people, an army spokesman told Reuters.

Mountainous Nepal is notorious for air accidents.

The aircraft with call sign S2-AGU took off from Dhaka and landed at TIA at 2:20pm local time.

The aircraft caught fire following the crash.
