Students removed from Airport Road, traffic resumes

Law enforcers removed the agitating students from Dhaka Airport Road and brought an end to six-hour blockade.


Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police removed the agitated students from the busy road around 4:12pm.
Students hurled brick-bats towards law enforcers as they tried to remove them from the road.


This morning, students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College staged demonstration blocking Airport Road in Dhaka around 11:00am protesting against the death of their two fellows in a road accident on Sunday.

Later, the students of BAF Shaheen College, Bhasantek School and College, Adamjee Cantonment College, Tejgaon College, Bangla College took part in the demonstration.

The students also staged sit-in on rail line at Shewra.

Later, the rail authority suspended the communication of Dhaka with others parts of the country since 1:30pm for safety purpose.

Students also gave a 24-hour ultimatum to fulfill their nine-point demand.
