Inu for unmasking misdeeds of Zia family

Published on: 7:56 pm - Friday | August 17, 2018

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu today said the next Jatiya Sangsad polls would be held as per the provisions of the Constitution.

He said Bangladesh would not be safe and peace would not descend on political landscape unless the misdeeds of General Zia, Khaleda Zia and their son Tareque Zia could not be unmasked.

The minister was replying to a query of newsmen after exchanging views with Jatiya Samjatantrik Dal(JSD) leaders and activists at Kustia Circuit House here.

Inu said unmasking evils of General Zia, Khaleda Zia and Tarique Zia could not be termed as a vengeance against any family. Misdeeds of the Zia family, he said, should be exposed to safeguard Bangladesh and restore political peace in the country.

Even it is also necessary to build a country free from militancy and terrorism, he added.

Bitterly criticizing a comment made by BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, the JSD chief said “The BNP leaders are actually trying to hide the misdeeds of General Zia, Khaleda Zia and Tarique Zia by criticizing me.”

Deputy Commissioner of Kustia Aslam Hossen, District JSD President Golam Mohsin, its General Secretary Abdul Alim Shawpan, Mirpur Upazila JSD President Ahammad Ali and JSD front organizations leaders and activists, among others, were present.
