90% waste removed in DSCC

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon said that 90% waste of sacrificial animals of Eid-ul-Azha has been removed as it was declared to be completed within 24 hours.

The Mayor said this at a press briefing on Thursday (August 23).

Mayor Sayeed Khokon said, “We made an announcement to remove waste within 24 hours. Much of work is done. Animals will be slaughtered today and tomorrow. So, our cleaning staff will be there as long as there is waste. We will gift a city with 100% waste removed from streets.”

The Mayor has been monitoring waste removal activity through CCTV from his office at Nagar Bhaban in the capital.

Two city corporations- Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) are making frantic efforts to remove waste of sacrificial animals within 24 hours.
