Suspected drug trader killed in ‘gunfight’

A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight between two groups of drug traders in Boluhar area of Kotchandpur upazila in Jhenidah district early Sunday.

Deceased Selim, 42, was a resident of Kashipur area in the upazila, Kotchandpur Police Station officer in-charge Biplob Kumar Saha, reports UNB.

With this, the number of deaths in anti-drugs crackdown stood at 231 across the country since May 12.

Being informed about a gunfight between two groups of drug traders, a team of police went to the spot.

Later, they found the bullet-hit body of Selim, said the OC.

Police also recovered a one shooter gun, two round bullets, 40 bottles of Phensidyl, 300 Yaba tablets, four mobile sets and a private car.
