Finger won’t be fully normal again : Shakib

The injured finger of Shakib Al Hasan will not get a hundred percent recovery. Treatment is underway in such way that he can continue his cricket carrier.

This finger will never get hundred percent fit as it’s a soft bone so there is no chance to recover fully. They [doctors] will try to bring my hand to a condition so that I am able to hold the bat and continue playing cricket, said Shakib before departing for Australia Friday night at the Hazrat Shahjalal International airport.

Shakib talked to the reporters before leaving Dhaka for Australia. Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Greg Hoy will check Shakib Al Hasan’s hand. Although there will be an operation but the surgery will not give the finger 100 percent recovery, said Shakib.

He said, “My biggest tension is the infection as doctor will not conduct surgery until the infection comes to zero percent.”

Shakib injured his finger in the final of the tri-nation series in January this year when he dived to stop a single and dislocated his left hand’s little finger upon impact with the ground.

The cricketer had undergone immediate surgery on the injured little finger of his left hand upon returning from the UAE midway through the Asia Cup.
