A fire broke out in an open space of Bangladesh Bank on Wednesday afternoon.

On information, four fire fighting units rushed to the scene around 1:30pm and doused the flame before any major damage.

DMP’s assistant commissioner (Motijheel zone) Zahidul Islam said the fire might have originated from a cigarette.
