Feni AL leader Akramuzzaman dies of COVID-19

Feni district Awami League unit president advocate Akramuzzaman died of novel coronavirus at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.

The 74-year-old valiant freedom fighter breathed his last at early hours of Sunday.

His family members said the AL leader was admitted to the CMH on June 19 with respiratory problem. He was found positive for the deadly virus the next day and shifted to the ICU of the hospital.

Akramuzzaman was elected president of the then Feni Mohkuma Students’ Union in 1967.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of the AL leader.

In a condolence message, she said Akramuzzaman will live in the heart of  people as leader of mass people.
