Emirates airline to cut up to 9,000 jobs: report

Bangladesh’s novel coronavirus death toll reached 2,305 on Saturday as 30 more patients died of the virus infection in last 24 hours.

At the same time, 2,686 more confirmed cases were reported, taking the total infection number to 1,81,129.

Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr Nasima Sultana confirmed the figure this afternoon.

She requested all to active physically by doing exercise and household works and also to maintain health guidelines properly.

Of the deceased 25 were male and five were female.

More 11,475 samples were collected in the past 24 hours where 11,193 samples have been tested.

The health authorities also reported 1,628 recovery cases during this period, taking the total recovery to 88,034.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 853 people were put under isolation.

The current death rate is 1.27 per cent while the infection rate is 24 per cent.
