Popular Medical College Principal dies of coronavirus

Prof TIM Abdullah Al Farooque, Principal of Popular Medical College , died of coronavirus on Tuesday morning.

Foundation for Doctors’ Safety Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR) joint secretary general Dr Rahat Anwar Chowdhury said Prof Farooque died at Popular Medical College Hospital.

A former professor of the DMCH Surgery Department, Dr Farooque was also the senior councillor of Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons.

According to the FDSR, so far, 74 physicians died of coronavirus while 11 more died with the virus symptoms in the country.
