One killed in drivers clash in Moulvibazar

A driver was killed and five others were injured during a clash between two groups of CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers at Sadar upazila in Moulvibazar district on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Fazlu Mia, 27, son of Konor Mia, a resident of Anikeli village in the upazila.

However, police have arrested two people in this connection.

Police and local sources said two groups of auto-rickshaw drivers in Imambazar area had been at loggerheads for a long time.

As sequel to this, they locked into clash at 1.00pm, leaving six people including Fazlu Mia injured.

Fazlu Mia succumbed to his injuries on the way to a local hospital.

Five others injured are receiving treatment at Moulvibazar 250-bed Hospital.

On information, police rushed to the spot and nabbed CNG-auto rickshaw driver Md Ilias and Giasnagor union parishad member Abdul Salek in this connection.

Md Alamgir Husen, officer-in-charge of Moulvibazar Model Police Station, confirmed the matter.
