Minor boy drowns in Phulbari pond

A minor child drowned in a pond at Phulbari upazila in Kurigram district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Niloy, 7, son of Milon Chandra, a resident of Kutichandrakana village in the upazila.

Locals said Milon slipped into a pond nearby his house at about 5.00pm while playing beside it.

Later, family members rescued him and took to Phulbari Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Phulbari Police Station OC Rajeeb Kumar Roy confirmed the matter.
