Man held for stripping fish farmer naked in Noakhali

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a man in Noakhali’s Begumganj upazila who stripped a fish farmer and his employee naked after torturing.

The detained is Md Abdus Salam, 21, a resident of Bahadurpur village in the uapzila.

RAB detained him from Alayarpur village at 4.30pm and he was sent to jail on Sunday following a court order.

RAB-11 Laxmipur camp commander Md Abu Saleh said the victim along with his employee was guarding his fish farm at Bahadurpur village at night on August 30.

“Abdus Salam along with Md Raihan, 20, Akbar Hossain, 22, Md Liton, 22, Md Rakib Hossain, 23, Suhon, 23, Babu, 21, Madhu, 28, and Imon, 22, came to theft fish from the victim’s farm at night. They stripped and naked the duos tying their legs and hands with rope as they protested the theft. The victims were tortured and the incident was recorded by mobile phone set of the accused,” said the official.

The accused later demanded Tk 2 lakh as extortion threatening them to spread the video on social media, said RAB.

The victim on Saturday afternoon lodged a complaint with RAB.
