PM pays homage to Bangabandhu
DHAKA : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday (January 10) paid tribute to the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman commemorating his historic homecoming day.
On this day in 1972, Bangabandhu returned to the liberated homeland after his release from Pakistani prison following the emergence of independent Bangladesh.
The premier placed floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi-32 in Dhaka around 7:00am.
Later, Sheikh Hasina, as the president of Awami League, flanked by his party leaders, placed another floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
Later, she entered the Bangabandhu Bhaban and stayed there for over half an hour.
Leaders of the front organizations of ruling Awami League also paid homage to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his portrait.
