High Court starts hearing death references, appeals of convicts in Rakib murder case

The High Court has begun hearing death references and appeals of convicts in Rakib Howlader murder case.

The bench of Justice Jahangir Hossain and Justice Md Jahangir Hossain started the first hearing on Tuesday.

Earlier, the death references in the case filed for killing Rakib Howlader reached the High Court on November 10, 2015.

On November 8, Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Dilruba Sultana sentenced two persons Omar Sharif and Mintu Khan to death for killing Rakib.

Rakib was murdered by inserting a high-pressure air pump nozzle into his rectum and filling the body with air on August 3.
